Are you, or someone you know, a young adult cancer survivor? Thrive Through Cancer is hosting their first annual “Ports & Pints” expo for young adult cancer survivors on Saturday, May 2, 2015. This educational and interactive and event will be held at Hale’s Ales Brewery & Pub located between Fremont and Ballard in Seattle. This free half-day event will bring local resources together for educational seminars on nutrition, recreation, fertility, and for a career and finance discussion. Additionally, informational booths and presentations for young adult cancer survivors will be available for participants to learn more about community resources and get their questions answered.

Young adults between the ages of 18-40, experience different barriers when diagnosed with cancer than children and older adults. Whether you are going to college, expecting your first child, buying a house, or starting your career, a cancer diagnosis can be disruptive. Thrive Through Cancer works to support young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer by connecting them with age-appropriate resources and through educational events and networking opportunities to connect with one another. Their hope is to help young adults thrive through cancer.

Ports & Pints will include educational presentations, entertainment, refreshments, and an optional happy hour to conclude the event. Registration is required, but the event is free of charge. To learn more or to register, please click here. We hope to see you there!
