Watch video: Providing culturally relevant care for Asian seniors

January 9, 2024 Swedish Communications

Providence Swedish is committed to supporting culturally relevant care in every community.

Kin On means "healthy and safe" in Chinese, it's also the name of the country's first bilingual Chinese American nursing home, which is located right here in Seattle.

For years, Providence Swedish has been a proud community partner of Kin On and it's mission to provide culturally relevant care for Asian seniors.

"There are gaps in our health care system. And especially our senior immigrant population. And that's where an organization like Kin On comes in. [They] understand the cultural and linguistic needs of these patients and individuals," says Jae Lim, program manager, with Swedish Community Health Investment.

Watch this video from KING5's Evening Magazine to learn more about Kin On and how its partnership with Providence Swedish helps keep our community's Asian elders safe and healthy.
