Benjamin M. Starnes, MD, FAAP, has been announced as the new executive medical director for Pediatrics for Swedish Health Services.

With Swedish for 14 years prior to this, Dr. Starnes built a thriving practice at the Swedish Queen Anne Primary Care location. In 2018 he moved to regional medical director for Pediatrics, as well as chair of the Pediatric Quality and Implementation Committee.

“Dr. Starnes is passionate about creating a seamless experience for parents and children as they navigate the complexities of health care,” Melissa Short, executive director, Institutes and Services, Women’s Health Institute, shared in a statement. “Under his leadership as regional medical director, the pediatric clinics have standardized workflows, hours and patient access while maintaining one of the highest levels of quality in the system.”

Short also thanked Dr. Nwando Anyaoku for her exceptional support of the Pediatric Institute over the past several years. Dr. Anyaoku is now serving Swedish Health Services as our Chief Health Equity Officer.

Congratulations to Dr. Starnes for his new role on the Swedish Pediatric Leadership Team.
