A good time to get perspective

A little perspective as we head into the weekend:

Life does not get easier as we get older; we take on more responsibility at work and at home. In this economy, it often feels that we are living on the edge and all it would take is one thing to tip the scales and throw our life off-balance. Taking time to slow life down can sometimes help.

As the weather warms up, consider taking a walk outside on your breaks. Getting outside and seeing the big picture can allow us to get life back into perspective and take a break from the daily grind. Turn your phone to silent mode and focus on the beauty in your surroundings.

When you can’t figure something out, step away from the problem and get outside to get perspective. When you get back, if you still don’t know the answer, ask for help. Perhaps there is someone that you admire that can assist you in creating a solution.

Find ways to enjoy your commute, seeing it as your down time. Turn off the radio and enjoy some quiet time to let your mind wander and sort out all that is going on. If you take public transportation, download some ‘white noise’ music and tune out.

Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Are you over committing? Take a look at your life and see what you can eliminate. Yes, we want to be a super hero, but we also need to be realistic and not spread ourselves too thin.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
