The 2 month deadline I put on myself to drop some more weight is up. I go to that conference next week and I am happy to say that I will go there more than 50 lbs lighter than I was at this time last year. What I learned is that deadlines, for weightloss anyway don't really work. Stress is a major contributor to bad eating habits and weight retention, putting that kind of pressure on yourself actually works against your ability to realize you goals.
So in the last 2 months I weigh the same, I've neither lost nor gained and still lament that lack of exersize is what stands between me and further weight loss. Another key issue is accurate tracking of calories, A recent study of 1000 Americans that were trying to lose weight indicated that only 9% were tracking calories at all and of that only 9% of them were tracking calories accurately. There is no doubt that our doctors in Swedish Weight Loss Services will concur that tracking calories is a really effective tool for weight loss and it is proven that those who track calories lose twice as much weight as those who do not. I've always said that tracking is not for me, that it would't fit my lifestyle or that it will be too much work, but if I want to get over the hump maybe I need to think again!
