City of Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan and Swedish CEO R. Guy Hudson, M.D., MBA, welcomed Biden Administration Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra on Wednesday to the Community Vaccination Site at Lumen Field. The vaccination site, which delivered its 50,000th vaccine last week, is a partnership between Swedish and the City of Seattle.
“It was a privilege and pleasure to welcome Secretary Beccera to the Community Vaccination Site at Lumen Field yesterday,” said Swedish CEO R. Guy Hudson, M.D., MBA. “He was curious about our region and the challenge of delivering vaccines to the most vulnerable communities, so we were able to talk about our mobile vaccine clinics and our innovative approach to delivering the shots where people need it most.”
On hand to guide Secretary Becerra through the vaccination site were Swedish Chief Health Equity Officer, Dr. Nwando Anyaoku, Swedish Chief Quality Officer, Renee Rassilyer-Bomers and Providence President of Population Health, Dr. Rhonda Medows. The group toured the facility, met with volunteers and discussed how to provide more accessible health care in the United States.
