Swedish today announced a partnership with One Medical, the leading member-based, technology-enabled modern primary care provider. This partnership with One Medical provides Swedish the opportunity to expand its reach in the community while offering patients continuity of care if they need to access specialty and hospital care at Swedish.
“Strategic partnerships like this broaden our reach and allow us to serve more people,” said Dr. Guy Hudson, Swedish chief executive officer. “We are very excited about this partnership with One Medical and the additional access it will provide for patients.”
The One Medical clinics will operate using the company’s membership-based primary care model, offering increased access to quality care for its members. One Medical cares for patients through personal memberships, as well as through employer agreements, focusing on employers of various industries across the United States. In the Seattle area, Swedish will initially partner with One Medical through two clinics - one in Bellevue and one in Seattle. One Medical’s approach prioritizes primary care designed to offer its members same-day access to care where they work and live.
“This partnership is complementary to our existing Swedish Primary Care services and will allow us to amplify the great care our primary care providers and specialists give patients every day,” continued Dr. Hudson.
Swedish is targeting to launch this partnership in Seattle and Bellevue come February 2019. Providence St. Joseph Health is also partnering with One Medical in Los Angeles, Calif.
“One Medical’s collaboration with Swedish, a landmark health network, will allow us to enhance coordination of primary and specialty care for the Seattle community, keeping our members healthy and happy. Together, we will work together to transform the health care industry as a whole, advancing overall outcomes and increasing access to care,” said Amir Dan Rubin, president and CEO of One Medical.
