Join the Swedish Seattle Multiple Sclerosis Center’s new Play Reading Group for a fun, light-hearted way to get into character.

Have you ever wanted to act in a play? Are you a theater person who does not act anymore? Join the MS Center’s new Play Reading Group for a fun, light-hearted way to get into character. With the assistance of a dramaturgist at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, this group will have access to thousands of classical play scripts.

Group facilitator Patty Padden is a longtime musician whose first passion was theater. After studying performance arts through college, Patty acted in multiple theaters before becoming a full-time drummer with the all-girl band Babs and the Doo-langs in 1973. The band traveled throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond during which time Patty landed unique gigs such as playing with blues singer Big Mama Thornton and blues pianist Charles Brown.

While she can still be seen jamming behind the drum set, Patty is looking forward to connecting with other drama enthusiasts and providing individuals an opportunity to step outside of themselves and transfer life experiences into multiple acting roles.
