Naren Balasubramaniam new Swedish chief human resources officer

Swedish Health Services is proud to announce that Naren Balasubramaniam will serve as its new Chief Human Resources Officer. In his role with Swedish, Naren will have accountability for the Swedish HR function and will oversee the Swedish HR team and will also lead the change management and people engagement strategies at Swedish facilities. His first day was April 21.

Naren, who has held a variety of HR positions over the last 19 years, comes to Swedish from GCI Consulting Group in Farmington Hills, Mich. where he served as president and CEO and provided services on strategy, management and technology services in healthcare. Naren also worked at Henry Ford Health System where he was vice president of Business Strategies and System HR Services/Total Rewards. He has led multiple hospital acquisitions and HR integration projects, cultural transformation and hospital development initiatives in addition to his responsibilities over HR shared services and centers of excellence.

Naren has served in various local and national community and professional boards. He has spoken on at national and international conferences on value based healthcare design, medical value travel, cultural competence, and diversity and inclusion. Naren graduated from the University of Madras with a bachelor of science in physics and earned his MSW in Human Resources & Industrial Relations.  Naren is a FACHE fellow-designate of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
