Rising together: The Seattle Storm's basketball clinics inspire young athletes

January 8, 2025 Swedish Communications

Providence Swedish is proud to continue its partnership with the Seattle Storm as a founding partner of Together We Rise, an initiative to expand access to basketball in our communities.

The bright gym lights and the squeak of sneakers echoing across the court reflect more than just a game; they capture the energy and excitement of young athletes eager to learn and grow. The Seattle Storm’s Together We Rise community hoops series extends beyond basketball. It’s about creating opportunities for kids to develop skills, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love for the game regardless of income, neighborhood, race, or gender.

Providence Swedish is proud to continue its partnership with the Seattle Storm as a founding partner of Together We Rise, an initiative to expand access to basketball in our communities through free clinics and camps across the Puget Sound. Last year, from August through December, more than 500 young athletes from Rise Above and Boys & Girls Clubs of King County participated in free basketball clinics and camps at various locations.

Storm coaches and players led the clinics, inspiring the next generation of athletes. In addition, physicians from Providence Swedish Rehabilitation & Performance Medicine also contributed by

Volunteering their time to educate young athletes and their families. They shared insights on the importance of physical activity, exercise guidelines for school-aged children and adolescents, and long-term benefits of staying active.
