Swedish Cancer Institute and community events in August

August 20, 2014 Nicole Filbert

Can you believe the month of August has already arrived? Some may see the end of August as an end to summer, but it doesn’t mean the end of community events. Two particular events taking place toward the end of August are the American Cancer Society Relay for Life—Capitol Hill event and the Northwest Hope and Healing Alki Beach Run 5K. We are happy to announce the Swedish Cancer Institute will be supporting both!

On Saturday, August 23rd, Swedish will be at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life – Capitol Hill event. Staff and patients participating in the event will help support the fight against cancer and raise awareness about prevention. The relay will take place at Cal Anderson Park from 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Stop by the Swedish Cancer Institute table to say hi and pick up resources and information!

On Sunday, August 24th, you will find Swedish at the Northwest Hope and Healing Alki Beach Run 5K walk and run. Don’t forget to visit our table to learn more about all of our programs and services while we cheer on participants as they raise funds to provide every day essentials for women who are battling breast cancer. Start time is 9:00 AM at the Alki Beach Bathhouse!
