Swedish Medical Center is proud to announce that the Swedish Neuroscience Institute team at Cherry Hill has been awarded the Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification from DNV GL- Healthcare. Swedish Cherry Hill is currently one of two hospitals in the state of Washington to receive the comprehensive stroke certification designation.
Obtaining the certification requires an in-depth on-site analysis and review from DNV GL - Healthcare, a national accrediting organization for acute care and critical access hospitals. The assessment is made through observation, interviews and document review. According to DNV GL, certified Comprehensive Stroke Centers represent the most advanced stroke treatment available in a given geographic area. Swedish Medical Center Cherry Hill is currently the only hospital in the greater Seattle area to have received this certification from DNV GL.
“Swedish is truly committed to providing high quality extraordinary care for stroke patients, including those suffering from complex strokes,” said Andy Cosentino, Vice President of Swedish Neuroscience Institute. “This certification is a testament to the team’s focus on providing the best evidence-based practice, with state-of-the-art technology, and expanded services for stroke patients in our region.”
The DNV GL- Healthcare Comprehensive Stroke Certification integrates requirements related to the CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals, with the Guidelines of the Brain Attack Coalition and recommendations of the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association.
