A recent special presentation on Seattle's KING 5 featured Swedish's health equity leadership and highlighted several initiatives at Swedish that are helping close the health-care gaps in underserved communities. 

The KING 5 special included Swedish caregivers discussing what health equity work looks like in practice and how it is changing patients' lives. Chief Health Equity Officer, Nwando Anyaoku, M.D., emphasized the centrality of trust to health equity work and the ways benefits of equitable, accessible health-care for every patient and society as a whole. Featured were Swedish's LGBTQI+ Program; our JUST Birth Network; and Swedish's community health investments in our Asian, Latino, immigrant and refugee, and unhoused communities.
